5 Women Entrepreneurs to Follow on Instagram
Instagram is my favorite social media platform for lots of reasons but mainly because I connect with so many amazing people on the platform. Back when I first started my business in 2016 is also when I started my IG account and some of the people I met back then are still friends to this day!
I love using Instagram to promote my business because it can be a really fun place to show your work, share your clients, and connect with amazing women entrepreneurs doing amazing things. And today I would love to introduce you to 5 women entrepreneurs who I love to follow and why I think they’re so special.
Instagram used to be a place of real struggle for me in terms of comparison. Back in the day, I would find myself totally depleted by the app and feeling like my business could never be what I wanted. I’ve grown a lot since then and now I’m very intentional about the people I follow and the energy I let in - because it can really affect me, and I encourage you to do the same if you’ve ever felt totally drained after scrolling.
These women entrepreneurs I love to follow have always given off vibes of positivity, calm, strength, and encouragement and I have never been disappointed by their content. So here we go!
Jenna of Workspacery
Before Jenna moved to Indiana she was a KC girl and it was wonderful meeting up with her and being business friends as we navigated business together. Jenna started her business before I did, so she was an incredible resource of encouragement and support as I started my business too. And even as I became a new mom she was such a support to me, I remember her messaging me encouragement and we even hoped on a phone call to talk about how she managed motherhood and business. Seeing her business grow and evolve is such a joy and I’m privileged to say we’re biz buddies!

Jess Lively
Jess is a podcaster, pink-lover, and digital nomad. She travels all over the world and stays in gorgeous AirBNB’s and following along on her journey is so fun. While she says she never would have chosen the digital nomad life, I really enjoy seeing all the beautiful places she travels in the world. Whenever I see her stories pop up I know it’ll be beautiful, highlighting nature, home decor, amazing airbnbs, or just a positive energy. I think what I love seeing the most is the home decor and beautiful landscapes and cities around the world. She currently has a home base is Portugal. Follow along with her journey @jessclively
Avery Yaktus
Avery is a business and marketing mentor and I’ve been following along with her since she started and has grown to the multiple six figure mark. I love following along with Avery because she is super authentic, funny, and has a “this is how it is” attitude. She’s not afraid to call people out, make waves, and say how it is. She also often shares all she’s learning in Instagram LIVE, and is actually launching a podcast this week called Martinis and Marketing! So make sure to show her some love @avery.yaktus
Jenessa Wait
Jenessa is a hand-letter, encourager, and Christian. Her hand-lettering is focused on a relationship with Jesus and Bible verses and I love how encouraging it is! As a designer it’s always fun to follow other creatives who do things beautifully different than you and Jenessa is definitely one of those people. Jenessa doesn’t always just share positivity either, she shares encouragement and empathy for those struggling too, she shares prayers as well as her own faith journey. I love following because I feel like she gets me, and I always feel so encouraged. I actually have one of her prints in my kitchen! Follow along with her @jenessawait
Peggy James
Peggy is another marketing coach who I’ve been following since she started. We’ve known each other for years and it’s been amazing to see her grow to be incredibly successful over the years. She now hosts 1-1 coaching, mastermind groups and small programs focused on marketing, strategy and mindset, and more. Peggy is a straight-shooter and doesn’t sugar coat things. She tells it how it is and always shares so much helpful content. She is also a mom to 4(!!) which is totally inspiring – you can be an amazing businesswoman AND mother.
