I am so excited to share with you all about my Design Day Intensive but from the perspective of my client who actually went through the experience herself!
For a little backstory, my Dedicated Design Day service is all about completing your design to-dos in just one day. This is perfect for any small business needing a little help!
We schedule your Design Day on my calendar and you gather all the information I’ll need to design what you need help with - such as photos, copy, inspiration. When your Design Day arrives, we spend the whole day (uninterrupted) working on your projects. My workday consists of 4 hours but you would be surprised at how much we could get completed - as Shira was after her Design Day. But, enough about the service, let me introduce you to Shira and her experience!
Shira welcome! I’m so excited to have you here and chatting with us! Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do:
I am Shira W Rose, a contemporary, fashion-inspired portrait photographer based in metro Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. I specialize in elegant maternity, editorial-styled beauty, and boudoir portraiture.
When it comes to your business, what did you feel you needed the most help with in terms of design?
My business is so much more than a photo session, it is an experience that is built upon serving and uplifting women. Capturing my clients authentically as beautiful, powerful, confident beings is the ultimate goal. Anything outside of that felt like a great big distraction. Knowing that I needed help showcasing through design my passion and services to a growing audience became stressfully evident.
Design is not in my wheelhouse, my perfectionism would stall anything that I was trying to accomplish. Hiring a designer to help me create beautiful designs that would help convey my brand message and simplify my process became a must.
How long does designing take on your own?
FOREVER! No matter what I'm working on, it takes me so long.
What was the push to invest in a Design Day?
I found I was constantly recreating the wheel in two areas.... in the social media department and without question every time I get the what are you prices inquiry I would find myself hand typing a message sharing my pricing and then some. Creating logos to use for social media, and a beautiful pricing guide was a painful need to help take me to the next level.
When your Design Day arrived, how were you feeling?
Excited, overwhelmed and little worried that maybe you might not understand the things I provided and wondering if I left anything out.
After we completed your Design Day, what were your thoughts/feelings?
I was WOWed.... you got me, we accomplished so much and you communicated with me throughout the entire day. It was collaboration at its best.
What was your favorite part of the Design Day process?
Seeing the final product... There were many little things we did, however my pricing guide was just so perfect. I felt legit... with a gorgeous price guide ready to send to prospective clients. And fully loaded with logos to use for various projects. Instantly felt next level.
What would you say to someone who is on the fence about a Design Day for their own business?
Don't let the cost spook you. It would have taken me a month or much much more to complete what was done in one day. As small business owners that is so much value on our time. It felt scary but in the end, it was a total no-brainer. Do it!!
Finally, what's going on in your business right now where people can get involved with what you're doing?
I am currently working on an exhibit worthy portrait project for women to be seen authentically. And rolling out a black & white photography offering with limited openings. Let me just say this, for every woman who wants to reconnect with your confidence, to see that certain sparkle that makes you uniquely beautiful, I invite you to a personal session with me.
